2. Where do you envision yourself and your company in the long run, and what are your future goals?

Staying at the top of our game is the goal. Who does not like to stay on top, right? So, we constantly focus on learning and developing. We always keep ourselves updated on the latest trends in the market to up our game and rapidly grow by creating advanced software for our clients.

3. How is e-learning going to shape the education industry worldwide?

Technology has been forever influencing how education is delivered. Online learning has completely changed the face of education. The classrooms are no longer referred to as a physical location.

Previously a software engineer, she was trained in e-learning instructional design by SAP Germany. She has undertaken numerous content creation projects in the learning and marketing spaces for some of the biggest companies in the world before starting Clearly Blue.

How is technology complementing e-learning in the broader spectrum?

Technology-based learning has been around for over two decades. However, with immersive tech such as AR/VR and interactive tech such as gamification platforms, tech-based learning has become engaging. Aided by AI-driven learning management systems, educators are now able to offer personalized learning paths for learners based on their aptitudes and interests, and map those learning paths to what the industry is seeking.

How is e-learning going to shape the education industry worldwide?

Actor Chinmay Udgirkar has many facets to his personality.

While learning to act in plays at Genius, he became used to taking theatre/plays seriously. It became an inseparable part of his life and he realised that acting was his hobby and that what he used to do to get appreciation from people became a passion.

His family though supportive, put forth a condition that he should complete his degree in law first. He obeyed them and completed the five-year law course while simultaneously acting in theatre.

Since Chinmay’s family has no background in the entertainment industry, his family had made it clear to him – Whatever you are doing, accept it with all loopholes. What you have in your career today, you may not have tomorrow. So, you should be able to withstand it. You have to maintain mental fitness for battling your emotional struggles.

“I feel that without any reason we have unknowingly created a competition. I want to give only one message to the youth – are you truly happy/content with the speed with which you are running about? Are you peaceful? You need to introspect seriously before it is too late, instead of getting carried away. Life was very peaceful during our parent’s time.

What was your inspiration behind becoming an actor?

I entered the industry as a dubbing artist at the age of eight. I was fortunate to be nourished and nurtured as an artist in the presence of industry veterans at an early age. My father Arun Karnataki was a director, and my mother Lata Arun was a legendary theatre artist. Coming from a family of legends such as Bhalji Pendharkar and V. Shantaram was a blessing and a huge responsibility at the same time. And the audience and my fans have played a huge part in me maintain that family legacy and continue to live my passion for the cinema for over 40 years.

With the hectic schedule of shooting how have you been maintaining the work-life balance?

After I got married and had kids I chose to stay back at home. But after my husband and actor Laxmikant Berde’s unfortunate demise I decided to return to work. At that time Director Kedar Shinde was making a film Jatra and he asked me if I was interested in playing a role in it, and I said yes. That’s how I returned to Marathi cinema and started the second innings of my career.

Please share your future projects with us. Where would your fans get to see you next?

I am at a stage in my career when I would rather choose a role that is in my comfort zone. And the character I am playing in my next play was something I have aspired to do in theatre for a long.

What advice would you give to the aspiring Marathi actors?

Due to the reality shows and social media, young aspirants are getting early recognition and opportunities to show their talent. But it’s the experience and technique along with talent that nurtures the artist within. So, I would advise aspiring actors to get as much experience as they can before they leap to enter the film industry. Try taking part in college-level competitions, ad films, or any other mediums where you get experience and learn techniques.

From facing challenges to making mark

“I want to do something splendid before I go into my castle, something heroic or wonderful that won’t be forgotten after I’m dead. I don’t know what, but I’m on the watch for it, and mean to astonish you all someday.” Just like Jo March from Little Women, Nishigandha Wad as well has astonished the generations with her eminent persona on-screen.

But this success hasn’t come easily to her. “Training at an acting school under the legendary Satyadev Dubey, Arvind Deshpande, Sulabha Deshpande, and Jaydev Hattangadi was another thing.” Nishigandha said, “But when I first set foot alongside veterans in professional Marathi theatre it took me a long time to see myself from my soul sight. Like any other freshman, I was grasped with worries about what others and the audience will think about me.” “But ease comes with experience.” She advised.

Not only in the acting school or while working in theatre or films, but a true artist is nurtured outside as well. The stories they read, hear, and live have a huge impact on how the actor is shaped, how strong their roots become. Talking about which, Nishigandha shared fond memories of her childhood, “I grew up listening to the stories of legends like Geeta Bali and Meena Kumari from Kidar Sharma who was my uncle’s neighbor.”
